Dolls are not Freaky

Today at my shoot for Tsumori Chisato's latest spring/summer 2009 collection, my hairstylist created a bedhead look for me. I actually was quite pleased with my new look until I overheard at the changing room some unpleasant comments that my supposedly sexy look seemed freaky to them <:(

I know I should be happy that most people find me adorable, but I can't help recalling this: A friend once told me how some people (human) react to dolls with hugh doe eyes (what they call 'lifeless eyes'!), and how dolls like us remind them of Chucky or some childhood nightmare. What hurtful comments.

Please tell me I am nothing like Chucky.

Plasterdoll in Real Life at Creative Mafia - Part 2

Hello there,

My doll eyes are still recovering from last weekend's exhibition at Creative Mafia @ Youth '09 -- Too much camera flash throughout the whole of 3 days! :) I should be used to them by now with my modelling experience, but this really is the first time I'm being photographed by so many cameras!

Despite that, I'm really excited the fame and exposure I gained in this event, and how there were people calling me by my name (So they actually know me!). I'm also really happy to have met some fans of mine and made new friends too, especially the Fashion-na-nimal Darlings whom I exchanged runway tips with :)

Thank you sooooooooo much for those who purchased my fashion shoots prints! And also thanks to Bijou Bazaar for organising this successful event. Ohh, I'm super-duper excited with the potential opportunities to model for some fashion labels! Looks like I'm taking a step up in my modelling career ;)

Plasterdoll in Real Life at Creative Mafia - Part 1

So Maryam from Bijou Bazaar invited me to participate in an upcoming event, Creative Mafia @ Youth '09, where Plasterdoll prints will be exhibited and available for sale!

The Creative Mafia aims to showcase young creative entrepreneurs from the arts and crafts, designer fashion, music, visual and performing arts, film, photography as well as publishing in Malaysia. Great place for fellow young creative people to meet and mingle!
